Kali River Rapids is a favorite attraction of mine in Animal Kingdom, second only to Expedition Everest. When it comes to getting wet and cooling off, there is no other attraction like it.

The only places to get wetter are the water parks Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach. I’ve read reviews that people feel they get too wet on this attraction and have to go back to the resort and change. This is ridiculous. With the Florida heat, being soaked is refreshing. You will dry off in 20 minutes max.

The only downside to this attraction is that it is way too short. The theming in the queue is outstanding and full of detail. The ride itself starts off showing much promise. The conservation message in the scene with the scorched trees cut down is one of my favorite parts of the attraction . I wasn’t aware of the message until I read about it online. I just really like the smell of the smoke and heat of the flames.  After two pretty small drops and a few twists and turns the ride comes to an end. Too bad there wasn’t more forest to explore or a couple more thrills.

If you aren’t wet by the end of the ride, don’t rest easy. On the bridge above, guests can press a button to launch a stream of water out of two elephants trunks targeted at the rafts.

Kali River Rapids is the best place to get soaked and refresh in Animal Kindom.
