Last trip I decided to try some Walt Disney World thrills that I had never tried before. That included going to Blizzard Beach and trying my hand at an insane water slide. Like a lamb to the slaughter, I decided to get on the “ski lift” and head to the top of, for me, uncharted Disney territory. The mountain which is home to Summit Plummet awaits.

I board the ski lift and begin the ascent up what seems like a large mountain. The ski lift lasts a few minutes and at 160 feet, it is a large mountain. Summit Plummet is the tallest and fastest free fall waterslide in the United States, second in the world. With speeds up to 60 miles per hour, this is a slide to be reckoned with.

Disembarking from the lift, I head in the direction of Summit Plummet. But wait, there’s more.  Now I must slowly climb another three stories to face my fear. From this point, I can see the entire property of Walt Disney World and then some. I’m talking all four parks, water parks, Downtown Disney, Boardwalk and the surrounding area off property. I am up HIGH.

What you are about to see is my first time down Summit Plummet. This attraction is worth it if you are into thrills. There is also a path if you choose to walk up to the top. It isn’t a bad walk, especially after all of the Disney sweets. I took this option and went down two more times!

So join me as I go down the summit for the first time. I will be back to Blizzard Beach on my next visit. Try it for yourself on your next visit.
